when the rain falls
i sing these songs
they come from a place
i do not know by name
all i do is follow the pen
as it fills the page
and take the words on a journey
using my guitar and voice
as the vehicle
when the rain falls
i sing for you
all the places you can’t get to
no matter how good it feels
maybe this time it will work out
maybe he is the one
until you find yourself
at the same fucking dead end
and just like that
he is gone
when the rain falls
i am happiest and most alive
feels like the weather is my own mind
and i am the great bloodline
of the great mystics and poets
lost dreamer lone wolves
stuck somewhere in a time
they don’t belong in
hungry for the kind of love
that never lasts
when the rain falls
you will forever find me here
no matter how bad it gets
i will be here singing my songs
the only thing i truly care for
i tried playing society’s games
tried to fit in and laugh at their stupid jokes
never got the punchline
always saw the world as an abstraction
i believe that
it’s all poetry in the end
