And just like that
He snapped out of his misery
Knew his path
Found the way again
It began with a connection
An act of service
He felt inspired again
And although he was burning through his savings quickly
He had this wild fire burning through his heart
Whatever happened from here
He was gonna show others the way
Like jesus and buddha
And all the other great prophets
He wanted to be just like them
And so he laid back and read his books
Dreamed out loud through poetry and song
Took acid and went mad on dutch beaches
Danced alone in the best club in town
High and alone
Asked people how they really felt
What they really studied
Where they really came from
What they really wanted
And people listened and shared
Some got mad or didnt care
Because they werent used to
Being treated this way
He lived in hostels
With his waterbottle and fruit
Sat quietly in corners
Flirted with the stressed out staff
To brighten their days
Gave his albums and cards away
Listened to the rain and the howling winds
Feeling grateful
That for now
There is shelter and warmth
Feeling powerful
As the great sun that shines
Behind it all
The next day he got drunk
Ate pizza
and everything
Fell apart
