on imessage the other day
he always make me laugh
with his crazy stories, wisdom and belief in me
we met at my sister’s wedding,
bonded through our inner fires of frustration and failure
he once promised my mom
that i’ll make your son famous one day
although we were kind of drunk
i intend to make him keep that promise
he says it haunts him that his promise hasn’t been fulfilled
i told him that the promise is still strong
and then we talked about some other stuff
like the pyramids
and how many years it took to build them
then we joked about how we’re both
in the pyramid building business
he said he wants to buy me a plane ticket to Toronto
asked if I’d play some Bonjovi songs for his mom
David loves his mom, says that she’s an angel
i said i’d write some goals down
he said Markus focus now
you know know your goal
your goal is to go play in a stadium full of people
that’s your goal
you’re here to lead people with your music
not be some bullshit self help guru or something
the stadium, that’s where you belong
then he sent me a photo of a big crowd
after i said the stadium is too far away
and blurry to motivate me
but after i saw the photo
i realised his point
that would be a pretty good place
to share my thoughts
through my songs
getting people to singalong
to songs about things
they never might’ve otherwise thought
David said:
