I’ve been experimenting with optimising my health since 2008 when I was living in Ireland and banging this irish girl who was a vegan scientist running marathons. Eventually I noticed she was eating berries for breakfast and started to ask her what this was all about. Before that I was completely retarded to the ways of eating and other healthy lifestyle practises. I was mostly eating burgers, fish and chips, drinking beer, pizza and all that other shit we are taught to eat in the west. Most of the time I was miserable but I thought that was normal. Since then, I’ve tried all kinds of weird shit. Most of the changes just caused me more stress then they promised to alleviate. This could be either because the change was too drastic or that it just didn’t work. I liked the idea of not needing anything to feel good. And I was fortunate and privileged enough to have time and freedom to try new things. But no matter what I tried, I felt pretty much the same after the initial novelty wore out. My moods were controlling my life in a negative way. I sabotaged good relationships and good opportunities because I didn’t know how else to deal with anything. I got help. I got meds. I got therapy. I got a routine. I got positive. I got laid. I got knowledge. I got experience. I ate plants. I slept. I exercised. I even tried some expensive pills I got from health food shops because some asshole online said I should. Here are three things I have found to work the best: coffee, porn and exercise. My main criteria: convenience, enjoyment and price. Each destroy the competition when it comes to this criteria. And I think the benefits far outweigh the costs.
COFFEE
I fucking love my morning cup of joe. I have gone through periods without it that lasted from a few weeks to almost one year. Although the withdrawal symptoms are brutal at first, after a few weeks your body gets used to not having it. And if you want adrenaline to kick your ass in the morning, there are other ways.
But when I am not using coffee, I don’t feel as good overall. I miss that manic morning creativity. My moods are more erratic. I have tired and lethargic. I am not focused. Something is clearly wrong. I get lazy and depressed.
I find it is also great for my digestion. I take 2-3 deep shits after my morning coffee. Like clockwork. In fact, I usually don’t drink anymore during the day unless for social reasons (meaning if the people I meet bore me to death).
Coffee is sexy. It is not too expensive. I love the smell. Win. Win. Win. It helps regulate my moods, my sleep and my digestion. Win. Win and Win.
That’s a lot of wins.
Am I an addict? Yes but so what. Every human is addicted to something even if it is getting high on not getting high. Don’t let ugly people fool you.
Does coffee cause migraines and other health problems? It might but I don’t care. I have more problems when I am not on it. I feel BETTER on coffee than off it. That’s just me.
And I drink it black. Once you go black, you never go…
I am not even convinced that it is unhealthy to have a big fat black coffee once or twice per day. I’ve tried to battle this addiction too many times with no positive result to show for it that I am just admitting defeat and succumbing to the great lord of caffeine.
Not needing to battle a friend you thought was an enemy is incredibly liberating.
PORN
I got on the nofap bandwagon probably around the time it was started back in 2010 after being exposed to alternative sexual practises. I read about karezza, tantra and started talking about it and practising it with partners. I must admit, I went a little off the deep end with all that stuff for awhile. But it was all in the name of exploration so all good.
If I was single and living through one of my reclusive periods (I have had several) I abstained from jerking off and porn to see how long I could go without it. I wanted to see the effect this had on me. It was tough! But because I’m a viking warrior, I can do anything if I want it enough.
Does this mean I am addicted? Probably. Do I care like I used to? Not really.
I remember my first girlfriend when I was 18 (who I lost my virginity with). She was hot. But for some reason the sex didn’t really work as I didn’t always get a proper hard-on. She was young an experienced like me and was probably just as confused as I was. Maybe she thought I was gay.
Sometimes I wonder what it would be like to hook up with her again just to fuck her brains out which I didn’t know how to do back then. Maybe one of these days it will happen.
But besides her, I’ve rarely had erection issues unless I was too drunk or she was too wet or if I had jerked off too much or fucked too much before or something. Apparently some guys watch so much porn that they can’t get it up at all. While I sympathise, I can’t say that has been my motivation.
I also can’t vouch for the bizarre benefits some experience while nofapping. I am already a creative and crazy person to begin with so extra juice is not very pleasant. It’s too much for me.
Something does change within. But I think that’s just because I am so fucking horny. I even start having gay fantasies which is a little weird. It’s like gender starts disappearing and I just want skin and touch. Sounds kind of beautiful until you realise it is just the mind trying to get me to create babies and it will do whatever it can to get back control (mammalian/lizard brain).
After I blow a load or two, those fantasies usually go away and I feel kind of disgusted with myself for having thought them and sometimes even verbalised them to girlfriends. Maybe that’s why straight men go for cock in prison. Maybe it’s better than nothing.
My longest streak on nofap was around 5 months. I have done a few 2-3 month spells here and there. Occasionally I would edge to some porn or look at photos of some hottie I found online. Or I would write really erotic poetry or contact ex-girlfriends which is never a good idea.
I would battle the urges and exhaust my willpower doing so. I didn’t notice any difference between months 1-5. After a few weeks you are just horny as fuck and that doesn’t change at all. The urges come and go at first but eventually your whole life becomes about sexual gratification. I wonder if this is what heroin junkies feel like every morning?
I don’t like what this does to me. It clouds my judgement. It’s hard to say how this would develop if I went longer without it but I think I will put that curiosity on hold for now. Right now I got too many girls to fuck or imagine I’m fucking.
I have noticed that I actually feel better when I am watching porn. There is an abundance of girls to choose from or whatever it is you are into. You can “bang” as many as you want. And my moods and creativity feel more in control. Only after a long bout of nofap you might get a little wired and foggy after a binge. Don’t worry, it will even out.
I think the guys who have a problem with this whole sex thing are just losers to begin with without any bigger projects or ambitions in their lives. They are lost. If you feel that is a judgement on someone then know that being a loser without a project is not a fixed state.
Maybe for such guys, it’s better to go out and fuck some real girls and develop the character skills that this demands. Get some relationship experience. Get screwed over and cheated on a few times. See how you feel then. And when you meet that nice girl who you think is your soul mate, just know who is really is when human nature kicks in
I was dating this german girl last year for a few months but I once again found that having a girlfriend is really fucking frustrating and difficult. And pointlessly time consuming.
I’ve fucked enough girls (hot and fat and in between) that I don’t feel like I am missing out. I just have more important shit to do now than go out dating, fucking and all the bullshit associated with that. Although now and then it’s nice to get some real pussy so if the situation is right, I’ll go for it. And perhaps in the future when I have my current projects sorted, I might go on a supermodel rampage.
Porn is much more efficient and convenient. and often much more enjoyable than real sex. I look forward to it when the urge kicks in. It certainly takes much less time than having some bitch nagging at you all day after you get tired of fucking her. And it’s free.
Just use it. Don’t abuse it.
Porn is your friend if you let it be. The guilt and shame you feel is not because of the porn. It’s because your life is a disaster with or without it.
EXERCISE
This is really important.
I prefer going to the gym. If I can find a good health club with a sauna, even better. I keep track of my progress so my training becomes a fun game. When the weather is good I also like running outside. It’s important to feel strong and limber.
I like the gym because it’s different from my usual environment. There are hot girls there who I can think about later and who can think about me. Or if they are lucky, will get more than just thoughts.
It’s good to get fresh air. Deep breathing. And everything else associated with exercise.
Just don’t be an idiot. If you are not a professional athlete, don’t train like one either. Keep it cool with the intensity and the supplements. Challenge yourself occasionally but don’t burn yourself out.
Consistency is key. Competency is enough unless you want to make it your profession.
My current regime is strength training and mobility for 1 hour every monday, wednesday and friday (whole body workouts). And stretching for 30 minutes every tuesday, thursday and saturday. Sundays are for rest and recovery which means just walking, and light mobility/stretching. I will add cardio to the stretching days when the winter is over or when I join a fancier gym next month.
Exercise is also fun, convenient and not very expensive so it hits all points of our holy trinity of smart drug criteria.
*******
There are other “smart drugs” available to you but these are the big ones for me. Music is great. Meditation can be good too but I am not doing it currently (I want to experience if I feel better without it after meditation for 10+ years). I also plan to quit sugar at some point as I’ve already quit booze because it’s a huge obstacle for power hungry men like me. Booze is for losers.
I will continue to experiment and refine as my lifestyle permits.
When I have more money I will experiment more with detox stuff and other more expensive modalities. I can’t tell if they are bullshit yet until I’ve tried.
Right now I am going for enjoyment, convenience and price. If my smart drugs of choice fulfil those, and they help me stay focused on the big picture, I am all in. And if this means I am an addict, so be it.
Remember this:
There are no smart drugs. There are only drugs used by smart people.
Thoughts?
