Books

Sold the rest of my books. Already gave away most in the summer to some ukraine charity. Would’ve given to any other country too if that was an option. I dont believe in countries. Further thoughts on books/reading: ▪︎ Books are no fun when moving ▪︎ Books make the best gifts ▪︎ Been reading since I was a kid. Lots of different kinds of books. My education is from books, not school. I hated school. I just wanted to play guitar. Girls. Beer. Friends. I sucked at school. I never studied or did homework. School is for losers haha ▪︎ All books are self help books. Why else would you read? ▪︎ Sometimes i read too much, too fast. Books became my drug. Just wanted more more more. Started 40-50 at a time. Because of my voluntary OCD, had to finish them all. I am a finisher. From Finland. This might not end well ▪︎ Internet will kill your brain. Scanning headlines and doomscrolling to kill your loneliness. Not good. They got you good. Read books to prove me wrong ▪︎ i still read but prefer kindle. Yes books are cool/romantic but I have enough romance in my life thank you very much ▪︎ Getting more and more into history and geopolitics ▪︎ Favorite authors: Charles Bukowski, Henry Miller, John Fante… literary “down and out” fiction ▪︎ Favorite modern authors: (there was a good alt lit scene in usa some years ago which has faded a bit now but some great authors emerged from that) @sam_pink_art @scottmcclanahan @noah.cicero @nico.walker etc ▪︎ Favorite european author by far is Rob Doyle from ireland @skullhotel ▪︎ i also read all kinds of woowoo shit which is kinda embarassing ▪︎ I never believe anything I read. Its all fun and games for me. Have no interest in joining peoples communities or ideologies. Dont believe in those either. Were all alone. Born alone. Die alone. Or in my case live forever alone. Sometimes alone together? ▪︎ Science is also woowoo for me. Have friends who are statisticians/experts but to me they are the most religious people Ive ever met, willing to defend their aasumptions (ie. dogmas) to the death ▪︎ there is no morality, only preference Thoughts?
