RAILS

i almost feel like am looking at my own life from the sidelines

a passing stranger witnessing this madman idiot poet

live his life and rant at the clouds and empty white walls

got no horse dont hunt nor take gals to dances

never had a pickup truck or played banjo with my grandpa

yet i feel myself in those ol country songs

sitting my the creek wondrin where the fish go

let the bug and bees play on my skin

avoid the city life not knowing why

but when the banjo starts plucking

i gets to rootin and a tootin

flying my way through this fucking mind maze

transported to another time when the sun would still smile

quit my meds

quit meditation

quit sanity

quit art

quit quitting

quitting quit me

there is no quit

left in me

friend said you gone off the rails again

i said what rails?

Aint ever had em in the first place

maybe i lost my mind

but you cant lose

what you never even really had

in the first place.
