Mondays are the worst for me. I’m squinting my eyes trying to see the screen of my laptop. I’m too unready for the morning to get up and find my glasses. The truth is, I know I would have to turn on the lights to find them and I guess my vampire eyes are not too keen on taking anything bright at the moment. From monday to friday I try to take care of myself. You know, working out, practicing my guitar playing, doing some promo stuff for the band. Then on weekends all hell breaks loose. It usually starts on friday evening at around 6 in the evening. Ends whenever and wherever I fall asleep in the early morning hours of sunday. So my time is spent getting over it all and waiting for it to begin again. Whatever “it” is. In other words, I am learning how to juggle with fireballs. I’ve sort of lost my identity recently or perhaps I’ve given it away (and don’t misread into that statement, read it again if you must!). Let’s just say that I consider this an essential process in taking myself to the next level as an artist and a human being. I really want to change the world with this band. I want to change how music is perceived. I want to express this collective dissatisfaction which everyone knows is there, lurking in the background. I want to bring back beauty into the realm of pop culture and mainstream entertainment. However, I don’t want to say that there is nothing going on in the world as far as real, genuine, throw-you-against-the-wall art because that would be a lie. There is surely some great stuff happening which most people don’t know about (including me). If you are reading this, remember that a new decade is on the verge of beginning. Yes I know, it is only just a bunch of numbers changing. Call me delusional, but I take comfort in the idea that the next decade is our chance to define our generation. Re-establish who we are and why things needed to happen the way they did. It’s a chance to start a revolution in the way we express ourselves. We can finally break free from society’s clutches. We can put humanity back on the map and in contention for this universe’s most important species. A sea of pyramids, is gleaming in the distance. Awaiting to be built.
