I finished another book but because I didn’t like it, I am not going to tell you what it was or who wrote it. But I will tell you how it made me feel. I post my reviews on Good Reads and Amazon but I have a feeling they won’t let me post this so at least I won’t lose what I wrote when I post it here.
The book made me angry.
Why? Because I’m so sick of books like this that are just like every other book like this. The writing comes across as someone with a 1000 word per day writing routine. There is no creativity or inspiration. Nothing new. No fire. No blood. No danger.
And I also think the 1% rule is complete horse shit because the truth is, there is no path to success. It doesn’t work like that. Success IS the path. What does that mean? It means that it doesn’t matter what you do or when or if take cold showers or if you do it every day. None. Of. That. Matters. In fact it’s the wrong thing to focus on.
What matters is that you create value for others (art or business). Whether you do that once a week or month or year or all day or 5 hours here and there. You don’t have to do anything everyday. Except sleep and drink water.
Look, I know how this works. I’m a master musician. I have been playing instruments for almost 30 years. And I have done it professionally for the last 12. Sometimes I need time off and I even had to deal with an injury on my right arm which caused me 4 years of all kinds of troubles I wish I never had. But I have the talent to get back up quickly. The strange thing is, I evolve in my skills even when I take time off.
If the initial reaction has been set, our motor skills and intelligence is always working/adapting whether we are conscious of it or not. This is not such a simple thing as to say 1% growth every day. Ugh, what a bunch of nonsense.
Talent is crucial. Don’t listen to anyone who says everything is learned. That’s not true. Sometimes our genetics limit us, sometimes they can be the advantage. Depends on the field.
Hard work is also crucial. But again, it’s an oversimplification to say 1% work every day or even the idea of focusing on ONE THING (another stupid idea).
I’m just so fucking sick of these Tony Robbins self help zombies that keep on churning out the same crap. You can already see their big smiling faces before I know what the author even looks like. They cry when they find their “purpose”. Men like this should not be writing books, they should be working in factories. At least Tony Robbins has the balls to be a leader. I actually like the way he thinks (although I do think his seminars are not helpful to people). He’s a great con man. I admire that.
He is a leader of weak men.
Cowards.
America will fall because of these idiots. And so will the rest of the world.
Why?
Because the true nature of man is much more darker and complex than that. It is not just big smiles and tears. And compound interest.
We are beasts. We want power. There is evil in each of us. These thoughts have to be explored more in our books and videos.
I’m THIS close to not reading books like this ever again. But what the hell, I have them on my kindle and I will go through them. I suppose if anything, to know what NOT to do. When I write my book, all hell will break loose.
Speaking of which…
My idea of hell is becoming someone like this. Someone who even gets excited by something like this. A limp dick in a sea of turds.
Ultimately, this is a dumb book for dumb people.
These dumb people are gathering into tribes.
You should be very worried.
