I love listening to great rap music when I’m feeling angry and frustrated with my life. I go on long walks and crank up my ipod. I love the intensity. I love those low pounding beats. And some truth from the streets. It’s like watching an MMA fight with a lion fighting a grizzly. Just skip the foreplay and tell me what you really feel. I wish more musicians would do that.
The rap scene in Finland is a joke. They don’t have the swagger. It’s missing the cadence. It lacks the hippedy hop of a great flow and shakesperean/bukowskian flare for the wicked poetry of underworld minds. It’s like jazz without the New Orleans voodoo swamp hurricane culture. Or Americana music without cowshit on your tourist boots. Please Finland, do your own thing. Stop imitating with cheap porn costumes. The music here sucks. Finnish people are engineers, not musicians. Go build me a fucking bridge and leave the saxophone solos for black heroin addicts in the 1940s. Or weird reclusive wizard viking warriors like yours truly who wear their failures like a PhD tattooed on my ass.
