Don’t trust anything you read online until you have tried it yourself. And not just try it for a few days or weeks. It has to be longer. Most likely you will try it and then drop it many times for many years to really understand how something works and feels in your body.
Sometimes making changes feels terrible at first but is good long term. Kind of like starting an exercise program if you are really out of shape. Or quitting drugs and other bad habits. It won’t be pleasant at first. So be careful with just following what feels good right now. That is not a good recipe for long term health.
There is a lot of talk and marketing about omega 3 and fish oil and protein and zinc and B vitamins and invisible things they tell us are real. And all kinds of studies and documentaries and ideologies and books sold by entrepreneurial doctors and so-called experts. They are all lying. Don’t trust anyone. Never join movements except moving your body and mind. Look at the bigger game being played.
Eat real food and try to take into account where it comes from. When you are at the supermarket, make a connection with your choices. This is the only way to true health. You must take responsibility for your own body and mind. You are the doctor. You are the expert. You are the authority. And it will take time to learn and unlearn things. Become a student of your own mind. Stop reacting. Listen to others and watch how they talk and behave. Observe. Ask. Share.
Slow down. Make a connection with the food you make and eat. Listen to it. Appreciate it. Take a bite and taste it and swallow it with a deep sense of connection and wonder. Turn off distractions. You don’t need to watch all those videos and read a million books. Make eating alone (or with others) a sacred ritual. You need to learn how to fall in love with reality again.
Health and happiness and wealth are all intertwined. Things are not as they seem. I think the world is moving too fast and when I try to keep up, my dreams die. And it hurts.
Slow down world.
Please.
