(I started a facebook page again for university and my new life. I thought I’d write something in the ‘about me’ section and the following is what I came up with. However, I decided that it’s a bit too much and left it out. Nobody who doesn’t know me needs to know that much about me. Facebook is a fun toy though…)
Born in Finland. Grew up in Canada. Came back to Finland. Did what everybody did. Thought how everybody else thought. School, job, army, girlfriends, partying, sex, junk food, apartment, hollywood entertainment, massmedia, played in bands, bought lots of shit I don’t need, constantly wanted more, etc. Then something happened. The seeds were planted long before. Slowly I awoke from the coma of modern life. I packed my bags and left it all behind… and I didn’t look back.
Travelled around with a backpack and guitar. Made music. Performed to people in bars, clubs, boats, trains, streets, hostels, hotels, weddings, parks, etc. Did some crazy shit. Took drugs. Joined cults. Dated girls ranging from lawyers to models, artists to doctors. Had some great times. Unforgettable times. Broken hearts. Battle scars. Triumph, tragedy, adventure, comedy, romance… but then megalomania, narcissism, obsession, misery and despair slowly took over. Yes, I went off the deep end.
I became a recluse. I hid from the world. From myself. I abandoned everyone. Forsaked hope. I walked down the valley of madness into a world of black noise. But I wrote, wrote, wrote, and worked, worked, worked (on my music). I persisted. I persevered. I chased a dream I thought was mine until I saw it as another trap of that modern life coma I thought I had escaped (the dream to escape the coma was part of the coma still). I worked on myself. I found my bellybutton! Or so I thought. I reached a dead end emotionally, physically, mentally, spiritually, artistically. I was dry. Done. Down and out. Decided to make some changes.
Now I’m off to university. New beginning. New environment. New city. New home. New people. New scenes. New hobbies. New interests. New adventures. New goals. New dreams. New thoughts. New me. New life. Refreshed and rejuvenated, I am ready to take things to the next level; back to square one.
