album review

mew – no more stories are told today, I’m sorry they washed away. no more stories the world is grey, i’m tired let’s wash away

like coming home into a cold house. lighting a fire. at first it is just beautiful. but you barely notice it’s beauty except in the back of your mind. you are just too freezing and the world feels overwhelmingly heavy. then the fire starts to warm the room. inch by inch, squarefoot by squarefoot, bloodcell by bloodcell. and then you begin to feel it’s glow. and your breathing slows. and your blood flows again. and the shivering stops. your clattering teeth halt. as your loneliness makes you proud. to selfishly keep this moment to yourself. as you huddle together in the one man crowd. and sing along to it’s soft rumbling. dancing with the flame’s swerving movements. becoming one with the fire. and with this masterpiece of art from three men. who must be from a different galaxy. if not the same one you are from. far far away nevertheless.
