Apr 23, 2013

For some reason I’ve always been a little uncomfortable with birthdays but today (or now yesterday) was a great one so what the hell, mineaswell share some love. The day has taught me many things about life, about people and about myself (like all days should and probably do if we are willing to learn and keep our eyes open for the lessons). I honestly thought I could sneak through the day without anyone taking notice. Well, I was wrong. In case you don’t know I’m now 30 and it feels good. I like the number and I like getting older. I feel stronger and wiser (as weak and foolish as I often am). My new priority in life is happiness (also wrote more about this in my new blog which I might publicise at some point when I become brave again). Thanks to everyone who made me feel meaningful on this special day. Especially the card on my door and intimate (vodka fueled) conversations with Olga, whose beautiful eyes I am often distracted by when we talk. And the meeting with Ailan (you rock man!) who continues to push me artistically forward. Oh and bought myself a very beautiful copy of Tolstoy’s War & Peace which I have never read. Also got some nice txts and emails from some great people I’ve met recently and some old friends/family too. Makes a man feel good inside and warm at heart. Finished the day with some beer and chess with my new pal Jonay (Jonny!) from downstairs. Tomorrow I’m off to finland for the rest of the month. I’ll be back stronger and more determined than ever beginning with a show in Von Krahl on may 1st. I will also try to be a better person and understand others more. And of course, happier. See you soon! I better get to sleep now, ship leaves in the morning. Oh fuck, still gotta pack.

PS. Oh and of course thanks for this awesome photo by Niina (that was such a fun day!) which inspired me to write this post.
