there’s an ongoing crisis
in every country I know
forest fires, wars, famine
avalanches, corrupt governments
depression and homelessness
a crisis of meaning
a crisis of faith
the modern society is crumbling
the empire is on its knees
empire of money and fame
the people need to keep believing
that things will work out in the end
to stay sane and distracted long enough
to get through the days
to survive until summer break
years pass and we wonder
what we did with our lives
we regret parting with lovers
that might’ve been the best we ever had
if only we would have known it
at the time
always this neverending brewhaha
even when it hurts
even when it burns
just gotta love the burn baby burn
press the bruise baby press it good
gimme your best brewhaha smile
morning wood laugh track roller skates
the poets still singing to moons
long forgotten in silhouettes
of sad ghosts sleeping under bridges
take the money and run
but the money ran dry
all the money in the world
dried into a desert valley
just another lost planet
floating in space
where the hell are we going anyways
going places, going nuts
lets get outta here
it’s time to get outta
dodge.
