Bought a new guitar. Made in Canada. Everything is solid. No laminate crap. Blown away how good this is (smells good too). I have been playing such beat up, broken instruments for so many years, almost forgot what a difference a great instrument can make to the enjoyment factor. Just couldnt afford a new one because i was always broke. But i had to invest in a new axe to keep the songs coming. Researched it many months and hesitated but finally pulled the trigger because wood/electronics getting more expensive (thanks Vlad!). Its got LR Baggs pickups, havent tested those yet. But wow. This thing is amazing. Not many things in life are this perfect. Just all those little tiny subtle things (tuning everywhere, low end, high end, mids, balance, feel, crafstmanship). Been smelling it and playing it non-stop last week and being grateful for this to exist and now its all mine, MY PRECIOUS!! Figured it deserved its own place in the bedroom. I paid €1500 for it. If you want something similar quality with Gibson or Martin you will pay €4000. Still want a hummingbird one day for my future lakehouse bu this shall do for now. DUNE review… He wakes up agitated. One of those nights you go to bed hungry and depressed. Part of the bipolar viking life journey he tells himself. So you fall asleep with your clothes on because you dont trust the room. You cancel all plans for the next day because you know you are not good company when like this. Even the messages you write are filled with anger and some kind of childlike need for love and affection. But you would never admit that. That would ruin your whole character. By morning half of his clothes are taken off and scattered around the room. He gets up half nude. Makes tea. Listens to hypnosis audio. Another day at the office. This. Life. Is. My. Office. He writes. Reads. Eats mangoes that his friend brought to him from russia. His airbnb is cozy and a little cold but he likes to keep the heating down because it makes him hungrier. Satsified wolves are less sharp. He clears the schedule and decides to go see DUNE. Alone. He likes to watch movies alone so people don’t see his emotions. He feels things stronger than anybody else he has ever met. Cinemas have changed him. He is the opposite of a sociopath but sometimes it is too much so he keeps friends and wouldbe couldbe usedtobe lovers at a safe distance. Even in his own mind. He decides to walk the 20 minutes to the imax. He likes to walk everywhere if possible. He refuses to use electric scooters and thinks they are a menace to society. He sits in the theatre and thinks about the last time he was in a cinema. With his beautiful fuck angel gypsy princess. Her black jeans. The way she let him touch her. How her soft voice whispered in his ear. Didnt even mattter what. Horny ghosts haunting him still, even after all this time… The woman beside him is wearing a mask. Why? If you are scared of imaginary viruses, stay home. Anyways, the movie begins but its blurry. Wtf? Oh ok… He forgot to take the 3D glasses. He didnt know its 3D. He quickly goes out, annoys the masked cunt (i guess now we are even bitch) and comes back. Still got 400km left on my passport so gotta go and continue soon and walk the rest of it! Fell for this german girl i met on a fountain with an incredible smile… she had to go back to work and i went to her in Cologne and lived with her for 3 months. At first it was amazing but didn’t work out. 7) the beginnings of a poem (poetry is a form of screaming on paper and then my words become songs… sometimes)… it is a mysterious process 8) drinking wine from a seashell cup 9) later at the monastery… it was this girl’s birthday from new zealand who took these. Boom 10) a poem on time by Rupi Kaur (i really liked her first book Milk & Honey, it helped me get past my heartbreak from last year, kind of fell for this gypsy eyed girl but I fucked it all up and didn’t have the wisdom or patience to deal with her dramas and traumas or her mine and all that stuff so of course the samsaric cycle of birth death continues and now i no longer believe in romantic relationships they are the devil, only friendship) HEARTS HURT TO HEAL What else? BOOK REVIEW (Waking Up by Sam Harris) This is a fantastic book. Not just the content and Sam’s brilliant insights but the whole composition of the book itself. Apparently it includes parts of Sam’s PhD thesis so it does get a little academic at times. But even then it is a pleasure to read. I also really like how the author weaves his own experiences throughout, often with impeccable wit! Even the acknowledgement section moved me and I felt admiration for this man. Harris is a bold and courageous thinker who has a very strong command of the written word. Although the book itself is a non-fiction literary masterpiece, and will continue to fulfill its goal of bridging the gap between science and spiritually (religion can be discarded), I still personally struggle with this no-self thing. Sam almost makes it an assumption by the end. I get it and at times even perhaps experience it. But fleetingly so. What a refreshing book in the whole canon of popular science, western thought and spirituality. I wish more thought leaders would treat their ideas with the kind of careful clarity that Sam does, without the woowoo or coddling. His app is great too! I use it on most days and have the lifetime subscription because I was there from the start. I recommend it to everyone I know who seems to be suffering from the usual plight of the human condition. Without a consistent meditation/mindfulness practise, one has no business complaining about their predicament. You can run from truth, but you cannot hide. I truly admire this man as a writer, speaker, thinker, and human. And he also got me into all this stuff back in 2007 when I read End of Faith and found his book section. So for that I owe Sam my eternal gratitude. That said, this path is not for the faint of heart. Nor for the intellectually lazy. True spirituality (like science) will expose all your biases and lies. It will also uncover the profound joy and beauty that rests within every living being. Some winter scenery from where I live. And a smoothie with frozen berries, vegetables, seeds and ginger. Someone I once knew told me today that my music is heartless and soulless and nobody cares about my songs. Did it hurt? Yes. But I disagree with his assessment. And so I blocked them. No time for such people. When you start getting these kinds of reactions from others, you know you are getting somewhere. It feeds the fire! I want to go even further. Bolder. Better. Stronger. More Love. More power. More intensity. More beauty. Extremism is good if our values are in harmony with the ways of the universe. What I do is not for everyone, I get that. I don’t like everything either. But I do try to appreciate things I don’t like and to understand different perspectives. This doesn’t mean I want such people in my personal life. No thanks.
