I really love this movie. Brando’s character and performance is brilliant and inspiring. So brutally honest, dark, poetic and soulful. He sure knows how to treat a woman. The screenplay by Bertolucci is also brilliant and he really nailed it directing wise. It’s also one of the funniest movies of all time. The dialog and the relationship between the two main characters is also thought provoking and they have great chemistry. The story is beautiful in all it’s tragedy. My favorite scene is the tango hall when they get drunk. Just madness. The score is not my favorite but along with the city scenes of Paris, does the movie justice and gives an extra layer of depth.
Words can’t describe how great this movie is. One of my all time favorites.
