What My Audience Wants

Readers note: Written for an online community and course called “Product Launch Formula” which I ended up cancelling and refunding shortly after joining as I did with many of these online products at the time…

Hi there everyone!

This is my first comment. I am in the second module going through niche, avatar, etc. I’m a music maker so looking for a way to launch my new songs next year.

I just asked people about what they want from me and I’m quite shocked to find out it’s the opposite of what I thought they needed.

I’m a perfectionist, I want everything to be of the highest quality. Recordings, videos, performances, etc. I like working alone. I feel threatened in groups (others feel safe and threatened without tribes).

Yet they said that they just want to see the Real Me. That’s what they love most. To just show them who I am. And to feel safe knowing that I won’t leave them.
This is such a gamechanger for me. Like completely mindblowing and a little heart-breaking (because I am afraid the world will see me as some kind of demon if I show the real me).

I realized if I truly want to build a community around my art, I have to start listening to them more. And give them what they want. Stop controlling what they see of me and trying to hide behind fancy production. Will be interesting to see where this goes… it’s time to make some big changes in how I approach art, business and my whole life.
