All humans terminate lives of other living organisms all day. Like I said, life and death. It’s all part of the game.
This is one paradigm you cannot escape.
So that makes the vegan thing completely arbitrary and obsolete.
Humans are killers.
i dont mean just killing animals but dictionary definition of “terminating life of another living organism”
Extrapolating morality into this transference of life and death is just human mind trying to control its environment, an anthropomorphisation of human idealism onto nature.
Some people kill for pleasure. People are an insane collectively and into all kinds of weird shit. This diversity probably made us as successful as we are. Thinking that there is some baseline morality or decensy is just living in lalaland. Veganism just creates another division like any ideology of how things are vs how you want things to be (just as I’m doing when I say that, so this is really nature of mind and thought to do this, we cannot escape it).
Nature doesn’t punish. It is neither cruel or kind. It just feeds itself. Like I said, life and death. Some organisms have the blessing and curse of having sentience or in our case awareness. Does that attribute make us more worthy of life than a rock? No, absolutely not. That is a ridiculous idea with zero substance in any kind of philosophical scrutiny.
You might feel empathy when thinking about harm. You have that capability but that doesn’t mean everyone does or cares.
For me personally, it’s a selective thing. I can connect or disconnect willingly. I can feel bad if i dwell on it. I can also not feel anything if i don’t pay attention to it.
I say choose your battles wisely.
Humans are and are not killers. Both statements are equally true.
Everything that is happening is always natural. What’s doable and possible is natural. It is all part of nature. We are in the wild even now. This thought and sentence is as much nature as a tree branch. Every single thing we do is.
Otherwise you are falling into the trap of thinking that humans have somehow become supernatural or transceneded nature or so they think. They haven’t. And again what you call “psychopathic” is just extrapolating human moral virtue expectations on the external world. Nature doesn’t give a fuck if you rape babies, the only thing that matters is survival. Nature has no consciousness, it IS consciousness. Every time you blink is a form of violence if you want to look at it from a certain perspective. Force being extracted to counter other forces and just because it’s seemingly small and automatic, you think it is trivial. Violence is a destructive force but necessary to balance out things.
Natural laws might be evolving too.
I know it’s a compelling theory that there was a time when humans thrived in the garden of eden. I love the way that idea makes me feel. But if you really think about it, it’s is highly unlikely. I thik it’s more human fantasy and utopianism.
Life might’ve been simpler and peaceful in some ways (and less violent) but that also brought other challenges. And less understanding of what an alternative might even mean which would decrease the sense of meaning of this kind of life.
And then nothing is stable regarding environment. You might be doing well for awhile, food, people, sex, needs met, etc. And then nature changes and then it’s time to adapt. You see how that works? Humans did what they had to for survival.
Nowadays we have the luxury of choice (or more choices) which is a blessing and a curse. You can be anyone, eat anything (or anyone). But like always, there are consquences.
Right now we are sitting around a digital campfire trading stories while the predators of our own psyche are trying to kill us because they are starving.
