feeling a bit down today.
watching fascinating bbc documentary series life of mammals. what an amazing show. but these shows always make me sad.
I feel sorry for these animals.
If they knew what we have done to their planet and ecosystem they would gang up on humans and kill us. we would deserve it.
poor bear, hunting salmon with his last reserves of energy that is probably poisoned with chemicals.
poor polar bear trapped on a melting glacier with her cubs.
poor fox accused of being overtly blood thirsty when it is fighting for survival and doesn’t kill for pleasure. no animal kills for pleasure. they kill for food or to defend.
poor pigs confined and trapped. alone and scared. served on the plates of millions. what an insult to nature. what a disgrace.
sometimes I am truly ashamed of our race when looking at what we have done. especially knowing that I have so long been apart of this consuming, greedy, loveless race. it is only the times when we forget and avoid the reality of the situation that we may feel a moment of undeserved well being. the human being, so intelligent so beautiful at it’s core. where did we go wrong?
I can say that my days of being evil are in the past which is where they belong.
I believe in a future where all beings can live in peace among one another. we as humans will kill only if it’s a matter of survival or defense. But we have a choice! they don’t. they live in their environment and they are not smart enough to adapt like us. we have a choice damn it!
all domesticated animals should be undomesticated. it is unnecessary to keep this sick industry going just for our profit and overfed bellies.
at least kill your own meat and go hunt it in the wild if you must eat meat.
big brother, cigarettes, leather. how could we be so cold and evil? and stupid.
yes one day will get past this. i am sure this moment of pity will pass and I will continue my days as usual. i know it’s not good to see this cruelty for as long as we are whole and pure and healthy as individuals, that is all we can do. but we have this gift of reasoning that is also a curse and sometimes it can get overwhelming. in a way I wish this overwhelming pity could be shared by everybody and then we can actually take some big steps to make the necessary changes.
