Today I started a gluten free diet. For the last month I have already withdrawn from eating any dairy products or any other animal products besides fish. I’ve been eating mostly vegetables, fruit, nuts, seeds and drinking water or fresh juice. However, today I decided that I would eat Omega 3 enhanced eggs and maybe also wild meat which we eat sometimes in my household. I figured if I am still eating fish – an animal – it is irrational to not eat ‘healthy’ meat. But I do plan on trying a vegan diet as well as a raw food diet at some point. I really want to find the optimal diet for me. According to Mark Hyman M.D. some people strive on a vegan/raw food diet and others are severly malnourished by it. I do think that there is no question that a vegan diet is the best diet if you consider the ethical and environmental implications balanced with the nutritional value. In other words it’s good for not just you but the whole planet. Since this planet is our home, I think we should treat it that way. I hope to have found the solution to what works for me by the end of this year. Tomorrow I am going to a health food store to buy supplements (e.g. vitamins, minerals, etc.).

I also want to eventually get up at 5 a.m. but for now it’s 7 a.m. and gradually I’ll get up earlier and earlier. I have always been a morning person and I just feel like I can get more things done if I get up earlier. Right now, I’m a bit hampered by my spring allergies which take it’s toll on my machinery. Spring is never the favorite season of an allergic like myself.

Time to go to bed and read my book.
